NAPA employs evidence-based quality improvement tools that enhance the quality of patient care through its organization-wide Quality Improvement (QI) program. NAPA maintains one of the largest clinical outcomes databases in the anesthesia industry, with more than three million case performance entries contributed by NAPA providers. Our clients use NAPA’s own QI tool to drive evidence-based protocols that lower adverse effects, inform quality decision-making and decrease operational costs. The registry has contributed to best practices that include significantly lower re-intubation, aspiration and post-discharge nausea and vomiting (PDNV) rates when compared to national benchmarks.
To further enhance its reporting capabilities, NAPA works closely with the Anesthesia Business Group, a consortium of anesthesia providers of which NAPA is a founding member, to develop the Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR). The QCDR creates the infrastructure to collect data, the ability to analyze the data and the mechanics to provide same to CMS.
