Vice President of Quality Improvement
Julie Marhalik-Helms, RN, BSN serves as NAPA’s Vice President of Quality Improvement. In this role, she is responsible for the strategic oversight of the organization’s patient safety and quality program at the 200+ clinical sites where anesthesia and managed care services are provided.
Julie received her nursing degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA .In 2016 and 2017 she was selected by Becker’s Healthcare as one of the “50 Experts Leading the Field of Patient Safety.” In 2018 Julie accepted the nomination as Chair of The Anesthesia Business Group’s (ABG) Patient Safety Organization (PSO) and in 2016 she was nominated as the ABG Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR) Vice Chair. From 2014 through 2017 Julie served on the American Society of Anesthesiologist’s Anesthesia Quality Institute’s Patient Quality Improvement Council. Prior to joining NAPA Julie owned a consulting company and set up quality, risk and infection control programs for several outpatient organizations seeking national accreditation. Julie also has 18 years of hospital experience.
