We Are Better Together

As an organization, our never-ending journey to be the destination of choice for all means many things.

  • It means everyone is welcome, seen, and heard in our organization.
  • It means we treat our patients, and each other, with dignity and respect
  • It means our compassion and empathy reach across cultures and neighborhoods.
  • It means patients can rely on premier service no matter where they live, who they love, or their native language.

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion in Healthcare

Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and social change is critically important for our organization, people, and profession. Healthcare equity is one of the most pressing issues in our society, with long-term, widespread effects, especially regarding access to care and clinical outcomes.

The problem of healthcare inequity cannot be solved overnight. As leaders in the healthcare industry, in a specialty that touches all parts of the perioperative process, we have the ability and responsibility to be a catalyst for change. This includes creating more equitable patient experiences, expanding diversity within our talent base, and educating all members of our clinical teams on issues such as cultural awareness and unconscious bias. Working together, we can improve the quality of care and the workplaces where that care is provided.

Actionable Steps for Change

While respect and integrity have always been cornerstones of our organization, we have solidified our commitment in recent years. In addition to hiring a leader for DEI and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to guide our efforts, we launched Business Resource Groups (BRG) within NAPA. These sponsored stakeholder teams balance a focus on unique dimensions of diversity and one representative voice of NAPA. These groups help ensure our Equity & Impact work closes gaps in workforce issues, workplace experiences, and community access to care.

DE&I Partnerships

We are dedicated to expanding our relationships with anesthesia training programs and creating exposure to career paths for students representing communities of color.
