Chief Executive Officer
John F. Di Capua, MD, serves as Chief Executive Officer for NAPA. Dr. Di Capua also serves on the Board of Directors for NAPA.
Dr. Di Capua is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Pain Medicine. Dr. Di Capua has served as Chairman of Anesthesiology at Northwell Health’s (formerly North Shore-LIJ Health System) North Shore University Hospital and LIJ Medical Center since 2006. In addition, he sits as the Peter F. R. Walker, MD Associate Professor at the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine. Dr. Di Capua supervises over 1,500 anesthesia providers in 76 hospitals covering over 1,000,000 anesthesia cases per year.
Dr. Di Capua trained in anesthesiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, followed by fellowships in pain management and cardiothoracic anesthesia. He was on the faculty of Harvard Medical School before joining the Northwell Health System in 1994. His professional affiliations include membership in the International Association for the Study of Pain, American Pain Society, American Society of Anesthesiologists and New York State Society of Anesthesiologists.
Dr. Di Capua is integrally involved in the issues of perioperative operational management, clinical staffing models and lectures internationally on how anesthesia departments can provide quality and operational value to hospitals. He was named by his peers to the New York Super Doctors® 2015, 2016 and 2017 list.
